I’ve Decided to talk about some of my favourite tech toys. I have been collecting this stuff for a long time.

First up is my NEC MobilePro780

This one pound or so is my first choice for travel. It has no moving parts, powers up instantly, has a good keyboard and runs windows ce 2000. The battery life is great and the screen clear. It has a compact flash slot as well as a PCMCIA slot. I can use the built in 56K modem or slip in a network card and use my broadband connection.

I don’t know why the HPC form factor has disappeared. It is a great choice right in between a heavy laptop and a light but tiny pda.
